  • Read Across America – Literally

If you’re looking for some books as part of your Read Across America celebration, check out these awesome titles that feature all 50 states (and yes, even Washington, D.C.).

The books feature fiction and nonfiction and also promote themes of diversity and inclusion.

My personal favorite is Tomás and the Library Lady. This story features a migrant family that visited Iowa every summer for work. Tomás meets a librarian that fuels his love for reading. Along the way, the teach each other English and Spanish words. And the best part–Tomás inevitably went on to become the Chancellor of the entire University of California university system.

How cool is that?!!?
